This privacy policy describes our collection of personal data when you use our website www.bpositivetoday.com (our “Site”).  By using our Site, you agree to and consent to the collection and use of your information as described below.

If you do not want us to use your information or your data as stated in this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Site.

This Site is available only to users who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. By using the Site, you represent and warrant that you are (i) at least eighteen (18) years of age and/or (ii) otherwise recognized as being able to form legally binding contracts under applicable law.

Information We Collect

When you use our site, we may collect some non-identifiable information from you. You can review educational material and information about B Positive and plasma donation without providing us with any additional information. However, to schedule an appointment or to sign up for or to request additional information from us you will need to provide us with certain other information including your name, date of birth address, email address, telephone number, and appointment time request. You may also provide us with other information if you are asking us questions or commenting on your experience on our Site or our collection site.  

We may also, from time to time, request additional types of personal information. For example, might ask you about your experience at our collection site and the process. It’s up to you whether you provide this information. We may share your personal information to the necessary to provide you with services and resources, as we describe below.

We may also collect your information if you sign up for newsletters or for customized information that we may deliver via emails or if you participate in any surveys we offer. We may also contact you via SMS text messaging to the phone number you provide.

How We Use Information

We may choose to serve ads on the Site. These ads may be delivered to users by our advertising partners, who may use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to serve you advertisements tailored to interests you have shown by browsing on this and other sites you have visited, to determine whether you have seen a particular advertisement before and to avoid sending you duplicated advertisements. Information may be disclosed and otherwise transferred to an acquirer, successor, or assignee as part of any merger, acquisition, debt financing, sale of assets, or similar transaction, or in the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership in which information is transferred to one or more third parties as one of our business assets, to the extent and in the way as prescribed by applicable law.

Aggregate information is information that describes the habits, usage patterns and/or demographics of users as a group but does not reveal the identity of particular users. We may use aggregate information within B Positive to understand the needs of individuals using the Site.

We use tools, such as those provided by Google Analytics, FaceBook and others to help analyze how users use the Site. These analytic tools collect information such as how often users visit the Site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to coming to the Site. We use the information we get to improve our Site and Services.

For example, Google Analytics collects information about use of this Site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this Site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this Site. We use the information we get from Google Analytics only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this Site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a permanent cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.

De-Identified Information

On occasion, we may make arrangements with certain customers or business partners to share certain de-identified aggregate pattern information in order to assist such customers or business partners in improving their service (such as evaluating patterns, utilization, usage and trends). We may also share such information with you or other users of our service. This type of information may be based in part on information related to you, but does not allow for the personal identification of any individual (in other words, it is “de-identified”). For the purposes of research, demographic analysis and quality improvement processes, we may share such de-identified information with third parties.   

Do Not Track

For web browser use, you may set your browser to refuse these data collection methods, but we may not recognize or respond to “do not track” technologies employed by your browser. We do not specifically respond to Do Not Track (“DNT”) signals.

B Positive uses appropriate physical, managerial, and technical safeguards that are designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity and security of personal data that we collect and maintain against accidental or unlawful loss, theft and misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration destruction, or any other type of unlawful processing. Unfortunately, no web site, server or database is completely secure. B Positive cannot guarantee that your data will not be disclosed, misused or lost by accident or by the unauthorized acts of others.

California Shine the Light Law

California Civil Code Section 1798.83, known as the “Shine the Light” law, permits individuals who are California residents to request and obtain from us a list of what Personal Data (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year and the names and addresses of those third parties. We will never disclose your personal information to third parties for direct marketing purposes without your authorization. Requests may be made only once a year and are free of charge.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

B Positive reserves the right to change this Privacy Statement, and when updated, the effective date of the new version will be at the top of this statement. You understand and agree that your continued access and use of our Site will bind you to the terms of the Privacy Policy and/or Terms of Use in effect at the time of your access and use.
